Republicans Say The Bible Is Too LIBERAL!

Liberal Bias Bible

Liberal Bias Bible

I knew it!  All that Love your neighbor, sell you property and follow me and Money being the root of all evil talk, almost gave the impression that God wasn’t a Gun Toting, Free Market, Capitalist Republican!  Well the boys at Conservapedia can’t let the Liberal Bias of the King James Version as well as other Bible Versions, corrupt America any longer!  They have started the Conservative Bible Project to combat the “liberal Bias that has become the single biggest distortion in modern bible translations”.

First thing I noticed about this  supposed Conservative Bible Translation project is the lack of information and qualifications of the translators?  Do these guys know Greek, Latin & Hebrew?  From I gather they are going to just re-word the King James Version instead of Translate from the Original Greek and Hebrew text, I.E. The Textus Receptus.

I know a little bit about bible translations, as I spent 3 years at West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster California and worked for about a year as a Youth Pastor at a small Baptist Church in Palmdale California.  I am not a Theologian, but I know more then the average christian.

1. Framework against Liberal Bias: providing a strong framework that enables a thought-for-thought translation without corruption by liberal bias

Notice this isn’t a literal translation, but a “thought for thought” translation.  They are giving you their SPIN of what they want the Bible to say rather then the what it literally says.

4. Not Dumbed Down: not dumbing down the reading level, or diluting the intellectual force and logic of Christianity; the NIV is written at only the 7th grade level

10. Prefer Conciseness over Liberal Wordiness: preferring conciseness to the liberal style of high word-to-substance ratio; avoid compound negatives and unnecessary ambiguities; prefer concise, consistent use of the word “Lord” rather than “Jehovah” or “Yahweh” or “Lord God.”

Love this! We will not dumb down the bible like the dreaded NIV, but we won’t use too many words either like those blasted liberals!

7.  Express Free Market Parables - explaining the numerous economic parables with their full free-market meaning

Probably want to take out Mark 10:26 “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” & Matthew 19:21 –  ”Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.”  While you are at it they might want to take out Revelation 22:18-9 which states: ”For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.”

8. Exclude Later-Inserted Liberal Passages: excluding the later-inserted liberal passages that are not authentic, such as the adulteress story

This explains the Mark Sanford situation!  Liberals went back in time and added this story to trip the poor Governor up!

I think Rob Dreher [*] hit the nail on the head when he said  ”These jokers don’t worship God. They worship ideology.”
